Last Spring, The Sumner Law Group filed a lawsuit against State Farm Insurance for injuries our client suffered as a result of a serious car crash in Shrewsbury, Missouri. Our client was rear-ended by a vehicle that had been rear-ended by a third vehicle. He treated at Barnes Jewish Hospital and with a pain management doctor for injuries sustained to his lower back. The driver responsible for causing the crash was not insured at the time of the crash, even though driving without insurance coverage is prohibited by Missouri law. As a result, we made an uninsured motorist coverage claim with our client’s insurance carrier, State Farm. Unfortunately, despite our client paying monthly insurance premiums for this coverage, State Farm refused to pay the claim for years, resulting in our firm filing a lawsuit alleging State Farm unreasonably failed to protect its insured. After litigation, we recently settled the uninsured motorist claim for the policy limits.
