Do you understand the different types of automobile insurance offered by your insurance company?
What type of coverage is right for you?
Underinsured Motorist Coverage, also known as UIM coverage is important. Everyone should carry UIM coverage on their policy. Underinsured Motorist coverage is there to protect you when you are
catastrophically injured and the person responsible for your injuries is
underinsured and does not have the coverage and assets to make you whole again or take care of your future medical expenses.
Uninsured Motorist Coverage, also known as UM coverage is also important. Uninsured Motorist coverage is there to protect you when you are injured by someone that does not have automobile insurance. It is also there to protect you when you are injured in a hit and run or by a "phantom" vehicle.
Everyone should talk with their insurance agent to discuss what type of coverage is right for you.
