Police say all four vehicles involved in the crash were heading east on I-44 in Phelps County at around 5 p.m. on Monday when a 2011 Mack truck hit Fenton’s 2017 Chevrolet Impala from behind. Fenton then struck a car in front of her, causing that vehicle to overturn and hit a fourth vehicle.
Fenton’s car ending up going off the road and she sadly died at the scene. Her passenger, Lydia M. Fenton, 20 also suffered serious injuries.
The car Fenton’s car hit was a Chevrolet Equinox driven by Julia F. Fay, 26, of Wisconsin. Fay’s car overturned, hitting a Chevrolet Silverado. Fay suffered moderate injuries along with her passengers Mary M. Fay, and Linda R. Hagen.
The driver of the Silverado, Stephen R. Tidmore, 29, of St. James, Mo., was uninjured.
Davis, the driver of the Mack truck, suffered minor injuries. After hitting Fenton’s car, the truck traveled off the right side of the road and hit a guardrail. It stopped on the outer road, blocking the road.
This is exactly the type of incident that Brent Sumner of The Sumner Law Group fights for everyday in court. These injury victims are entitled to recover damages and pick up the pieces of their shattered lives. While the Fenton family can never fully recover from their loss of a loved one, Brent Sumner can hold the at-fault parties responsible.
